Pedro Frutuoso returns to Dão Region to create signature wines. With a new sense of time, Pedro produces selected wines on the family estate where he grew up.
“This return it is a reinterpretation of the past, revisiting my essence, my roots. A revisit to the values that are mine and it is here they were passed on to me. All of this finds an echo today in Terra Chama wines”.
“My grandparents, on both sides, were a great influence on my life. I learned from them the meaning of sharing, so often centered around a bottle of wine. My maternal grandfather had an entrepreneurial streak and the ability to surround himself with friends. My paternal grandfather was a bon vivant, who knew how to enjoy life and that was truly inspiring for me. Terra Chama is also a tribute to their values.”
“A wine that is a reference and a business card for Dão Region, that
understands and respects the character of the terroir and the individuality of
the vineyard”
“I WANT TO PRODUCE THE BEST WINE I CAN OFFER, EVERY YEAR, INDEPENDENT FROM THE ANNUAL CLIMATE VARIATIONS”
“My purpose is always excellence, not quantity”
“Wine is a permanent search for perfection, work that is always unfinished.
A quest to always do one’s best”
A wine that reflects the region, the terroir. A wine that was crafted by people true to its origins. A wine that surprises.
The Demarcated Region of the Dão was created in 1908. It was the first demarcated wine region in the country for non-sweetened wines and the second demarcated wine region in Portugal.
Each bottle of Terra Chama is the result of great teamwork. A team of locals that give their best, who are committed, dedicated and knowledgeable.
Our cellar is minimalist and clean, here the wine is the protagonist and deserves our full attention. It is produced with patience, care and commitment.
“this is the wine I want to share with my friends.”
